REFERENCES

"I have been teaching for over twenty years. In the past, when I asked students to sit still and focus, I assumed and expected them to know what I meant and to just do it.

Unfortunately, many students did not and could not sit without fidgeting or chatting with their neighbors; I attributed this to the fact that they were young and immature.

Acting Right teaches them what it looks like to have control of their bodies, how to focus, and how to be a better classmate through a series of age-appropriate lessons and activities. It also gave me a common ‘positive’ language to use when correcting inappropriate behaviors. I have seen a drastic improvement in all of my students, especially my most fidgety ones."

"I love that this program helps students to understand what it means to focus and be in control of their ability to do this.

I also love how students are able to move to "the observation deck" to observe how they should be acting and then return with a more focused approach.

This program has given my students the understanding of what it means to use their own "muscles" to control their actions. If they are not in control, they are reminded before being sent to the "observation deck" and then asked to return to use those muscles to be successful during the activity. I am so excited to have this tool in my "toolbox" for future classes as well.  Thank you!!!"
